A Message from Tanya:
It’s all about balance.
The four-leaf clover. It’s been an important part of my life. Growing up in Ohio, I found hundreds of them. Even when I went back to Ohio a couple years ago for my dad’s remembrance, I was in the back yard with my brother Chick and looked down and found one. I smiled and gave it to him, as a gift of luck and prosperity! Even here in Arizona, where grass doesn’t grow naturally, I have found a coin on the ground that has a four-leafed clover on it or a punch out paper clover on my back patio! Where did that come from?
But the four-leaf clover took on a new meaning to me a few years ago. I was pushing myself harder than I ever had before, traveling almost every week, working for a boss that seemed impossible to please, and a bully to boot! My health started failing, I ended up at Mayo Clinic getting an MRI on my neck, back, and arm for severe pain. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that my life was way out of balance.
At the same time, back in Ohio, my dad’s health was failing. I headed back to spend some (what ended up being irreplaceable) time with him. That was my last visit with him. He passed away in 2015, and I realized that life is just too short to be making myself sick working for someone else. I was ready to take the challenge of working hard for myself! As I took some well-deserved time off, doing as little as possible, in what I call my “recovery” time, I developed my personal and professional Health Philosophy.
Health and wellness in general to me, is really all about balance. Keeping all those areas of our life working together in harmony. A Balanced PLAN for Health! What better symbol than my four-leaf clover! Each heart (leaf) represents a different area of our overall health and wellness for the total plan.
The Balanced PLAN:
P – Physical Health (exercise for a healthy body)
L – Lifestyle (sleep habits, no smoking or excessive drinking)
A – Attitude (maintaining a positive, God-centered attitude)
N – Nutrition (making healthy food choices)
P – Physical Health (routine exercise)
L – Lifestyle (sleep, smoking, alcohol)
A – Attitude (positive, God-centered)
N – Nutrition (healthy food choices)
